Author's Roundtable and Reception
Meet selected authors and hear about their latest books on Tuesday, July 24 from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Approximately 35–40 authors will be in attendance and available to discuss and sign their books. Attendees are free to chat one-on-one and peruse or purchase books. For a more in-depth conversation, sign up for Roundtable 2 (RT2) on Tuesday, July 24 from 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. and hear two authors give 45-minute presentations. Find a list of authors here.
Doing What Works
The Doing What Works web site translates effective research-based education practices into practical tools that support and improve classroom instruction. Educators want to know what works, based on the best available evidence. They want help implementing research-based practices. Visit http://dww.ed.gov and understand the research base behind recommended practices, how to implement practices in schools, and access tools and templates to improve practices. Increase your awareness of and apply the resources found on the Doing What Works web site by attending either session B23 or E24, and find practical ways to support decision making, improve instruction, and increase student learning.
Learning Forward Foundation Inspiration Walk-a-Thon

Pack your walking shoes and join the Learning Forward Foundation and Learning Forward leaders for a one-mile walk to honor someone who has inspired your professional learning journey. Walk as an individual, as part of a team, or on behalf of your district, school, or organization. Your donation will support educators through financial grant opportunities to achieve the purpose of Learning Forward -- every educator engages in effective professional learning every day so every student achieves. The first 100 participants who register to walk will receive a Walk-a-thon t-shirt. Register at the Learning Forward Foundation table located near conference registration Sunday, July 22, and Monday, July 23.
